A long overdue update

Hey guys and gals! :)

So I realize it has been an extreme amount of time since i have updated you guys on the going ons of my life. Basically, the past year has been a year of experimenting and growing, so i appreciate your patience as you wait for any sign that i still exist. First of all, i would like to say that you all are amazing and i want to thank you for your continual support of me and my music! :)

Now for the good stuff. My 20th birthday just past (yay) so the lazy excuse of "being a teenager" can no longer be included in my vocabulary. As for the music, for the last few months or so, i have been in the studio recording my new CD. It's a short one, only four songs, but never the less, they are the four songs that i felt represented me the best, and honestly, the four songs that have helped me grow most as an artist. The words i write come from nothing other than the deepest truths of my heart. It's funny, because as i grow and learn as a person, the songs grow too. My first CD was sort of a tell tale journey of my adolescence and the struggles of growing up (all of the songs were written when i was between the ages of 14 and 16). The new CD picks up where the first one left off. With new struggles lol.

"Unpredictable", is a song about, well... simply put.... life being unpredictable. If there is one thing i have learned in my two short decades on Earth, it is that life can grant us some crazy opportunities. Both good and bad. Both happy and sad. Sometimes you think your life will end up someplace, and it ends up somewhere completely different. In a way, that's the beauty of it, and i truly do believe everything happens for a reason. If nothing else, to help us grow as people.

The other three songs all have one common denominator and that is, relationships aren't always easy. And I'm not just talking romantic relationships either. "Easier than You," "Drive Me Away," and "If You Don't Love Her" chronicle my journey of the trials and tribulations of trying to make those relationships work, and realizing that sometimes it just doesn't, no matter how hard you try. People aren't perfect.

The CD, which is not yet titled, is set to be finished within this next month so be on the lookout for it. I'm really excited about this because it represents some of my most honest work to date. I'm also excited to announce that a brand new website is currently in the works... so be on the lookout for that as well! It should be up within the next few weeks.

On a final note, I'm going to be taking life one day at a time. I guess we will have to wait and see where life takes me next. I'm just happy to be here now, surrounded by people who love and support me, and doing what i love to do.

Love you guys,
Ashley
